Jon Lawrence Jensen, Sr, age 83 of Howard, OH formerly of Manistee died Tuesday , June 11, 2024 at Bennington Glen Nursing Home in Marengo, Ohio.

He was born on May 18, 1941 in Ludington, MI the son of the late Lawrence & Dawn (Bashaw) Jensen. He was a graduate of Ludington High School Class of 1959, and was a veteran of the United States Army. On August 5, 1967 he married Sharon Lea Erickson at Messiah Lutheran Church in Manistee.

Jon was a carpenter, having worked at Harbor Village in Manistee, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Danville, OH, and had been a member of the Jaycees. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; Sharon Jensen, son; Jon Jr. (Andrea) Jensen, and grandchildren; Elizabeth Jensen and Jon Farris Jensen, and his brother; James (Judy) Jensen. Several nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive.
He was also preceded in death by his brother; Jerry Jensen, & sisters; Janet Dipple & Jeanne Zabihaylo

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Manistee with Pastor Mic Shriver officiating. Military Honors will follow. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Manistee.
