John William Fortier, age 65 of Manistee died Saturday, December 17, 2022, with his family by his side.

He was born on February 13, 1957, in Manistee, Michigan the son of the late Percy & Jane (Rogers) Fortier, Jr. He was a 1975 graduate of Manistee High School and had been employed as a water well driller by Cameron Brothers in Free Soil and Pump Engineering in Scottville for 42 years.

John enjoyed camping with his fiancé, watching the Lions, Michigan, & the Tigers, and was especially fond of his faithful companion, Hachi.

Survivors include his daughter Ashley Fortier; his fiancé Linda Walwood; one brother Jerry (Lori) Fortier; one sister Debbie Thomas and by three nephews, Nicholas (Abby) Fortier, Nathan & Nolan Fortier all of Manistee; great nieces Alyson & Evelyn Fortier; great nephew Michael Brunette, and the mother of his daughter Kay Fortier.

Memorial Services for John W. Fortier will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee with Pastor Lem Grenada officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
