John William Erb 75 of Manistee, Michigan passed away on July 27, 2025, peacefully, at home with family.

John was born February 7th, 1950 in Albion, Michigan to the late Harold W Erb and Blossom M Baker. He attended Homer High School in Homer, Michigan graduating in 1968. On August 14th, 1981, John married Mary L Powers at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee, Michigan.

John moved to Manistee in the early 1970's to follow his career in the Oilfield. He held many different positions during his 40 years of employment. He was also a Drywall Finisher for several years working for Marshall Drywall, retiring in 2012.

John was a Mr Fix It around the house and could repair just about anything. He loved to tinker around in his garage and could spend hours there. He loved music and photography and attended many concerts in his younger years. He also loved to hunt and fish in his spare time, especially bow hunting.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Erb, of Manistee, Daughter, Charmane (Matt) Goode, of Corryton, TN, Son, Christopher (Sandy) Lenz, of Wyoming, MI, Sisters-in-law, Donna Erb, of Lapeer, MI, Laura Powers (Jeff) of Twin Lakes, WI and Elaine (Ken) Weackler of Alpha, MI, Grandchildren, Brook, Sadie and Mason Brantley, all of Corryton, TN, Sara (Ryan) Stevelink, David Pierce, Great Grand Children, Kinsley and River Stevelink all of Grand Rapids, MI. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Blossom Erb, his brother, William John Erb, his in-laws, Francis and Dorothy Powers and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Powers.
