John Stephen Czarnecki, age 70 of Manistee, passed away on Wednesday July 31, 2024, at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital.

Born on May 28, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, John was the son of the late John and Hilda (Hamilton) Czarnecki. After graduating from Newaygo High School in 1972, John went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1975.

John married Erin Lynne Beebe on August 26, 1972, at the United Methodist Church in Newaygo, Michigan and they shared 51 years together.

He worked for Consumers Energy for 34 and a half years where he was the Repairman in charge before retiring on February 1, 2010.

John enjoyed spending his time golfing, hunting, and watching sports – especially Michigan, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers. He also loved sharing stories.

John will be missed by his wife Erin; children Zach (Melissa) Czarnecki, Brooke (Mark) Pefley, Joe (Brandi) Czarnecki, and Drew Czarnecki; four grandchildren; brother Mark (Kathy) Czarnecki; sister Lynn (Bill) Czarnecki; and many other family and friends.

The family will be having a private gathering.
