Jodee Ann Rainey, age 50, passed away unexpectedly September 29, 2024, at her home in Manistee.
She was born February 19, 1974, in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of Sandy Lempke-Mezeske and Michael Rainey. Jodee graduated from Manistee High School in 1992 and spent the majority of her career as a Table Games Dealer at the Little River Casino Resort.
In addition to her family, Jodee had 4 loves in her life. Nala, her dog, was a loyal, constant companion and would be seen riding shotgun in the car everywhere she went. Although Jodee didn't have children of her own, she was closely bonded with her two favorite girls, Tailyn and Talissa. They spent time crafting, watching movies, snacking, making and eating Puppy Chow and getting Frappes from McDonalds. Jodee found what she felt was "the love of her life" in Faron Jacobs. It was very obvious to all Jodee's family how truly happy she was to have Faron, a.k.a. Babe, in her life. They enjoyed stacking wood, going for rides in his TransAm, watching Faron shoot pool, drinking beers on Sunday or just doing nothing hanging out at home.
Jodee also enjoyed quilting, baking, watching Hallmark movies, wordsearches and SNACKS…lots and lots of snacks! Traveling with her sister to visit her Great Nephew Bodhi was also something she looked forward to.
Jodee was a very caring, giving person and perhaps a "bit" stubborn and set in her ways. As a little girl she had a few different nicknames – Bullhead, Jodee Pody, JoJo and Reindeer!!
She is survived by her mother Sandy Lempke-Mezeske; father Mike (Carol) Rainey; Sister and Brother-in-law Niki and Bruce Bonter; Sister Shelley Paschka (Coleson); Nephews Blane (Sam) Bonter, Great Nephew Bodhi Bonter, Logan Glass, Kale Glass; Niece Allie Bonter; Aunts Connie Waitner and Bonnie Kenny; her dog Nala and her boyfriend Faron Jacobs.
Jodee was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents Lawrence & Anna Lempke, Uncles Butch Lempke, Joel Kenny and Karl Waitner; Paternal Grandparents Clay & Alma Cushman and Aunt Beverly Bennett VanLoon.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 4th, 2024, at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee. Family will begin receiving friends/family at 10:00am with the service to begin at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow at the Manistee Township Hall.
