Joann Hilliard passed away on Friday December 22, 2023.

She was born in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of the late Ival and Esther (Thorpe) Hutchinson. Joann graduated from Manistee High School. She married Robert A. Hilliard, and they had two children together. Joann lived in Onekama for most of her life.

Joann was a member of Norwalk Lutheran Church where she held a variety of offices in the church. She was also a member of the Junior Clio Club.

She loved going for rides and on trips to interesting places. Joann also enjoyed spending time with her many friends.

Joann is survived by her children Kathy (Ron) Lambert and Jeff (Cindy) Hilliard; grandchildren Erica Lambert, Brian (Kirsten) Lambert, Jodi (Sean) Woodall, Jason (Emily Rosa) Hilliard; great-grandchildren Cameron, Kason, & Kinsley Lambert, Soren Woodall, and Fay & Jason Scheffield; sister Dolores Widgren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Betty Hutchinson; brother-in-law John Widgren; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry (JoAnn) Hutchinson, Larry (Joy) Hutchinson; nieces Sharon Myers and Linda Hutchinson; nephew Darwin Hutchinson; and special companion Darwin Meister.

Funeral Services for Joann will be held on Thursday December 28, 2023, at Norwalk Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jacob Sherry officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday December 27, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee.

She will be laid to rest at Norwalk Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Norwalk Lutheran Church or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
