Jeanette M. Nuckolls of Manistee, formerly of Ludington, MI, passed away on January 13, 2024, just twelve days before her 103rd birthday. Born Jeanette M. Scholtz on January 25, 1921, in Kenosha, WI, she was the youngest of ten children born to John and Victoria Scholtz.
Jeanette had a passion for life and a multitude of interests. She adored cooking, singing, reading, shopping, and pursuing various hobbies, including rug hooking, card making, coloring, and crafting of all kinds. Her love for music was evident as she lent her beautiful voice to every church choir she joined. Her devout Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life, bringing her joy and solace throughout the years.
She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harry, her son Paul Lance Nuckolls, daughter-in law Susan (Weiler) Nuckolls and her granddaughter Susan M Nuckolls. She is survived by her son Marc (Brenda) Nuckolls of Pewaukee, WI, her daughter Carol (Steve) DuVall of Onekama, MI, along with 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as her amazing and devoted caretaker, Jill (Jim) Clark of Manistee.
Jeanette leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and creativity that will be deeply cherished by her family and all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Onekama with Rev. Bradley Nursey celebrant. The family will be at the church to greet guests at 10:30 a.m. before Mass and immediately after Mass at the luncheon in the parish hall.
