With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jacqueline Marguerite Jenkins, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Jackie, as she was known to all, was a beacon of love, laughter, and light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Standing just 4 feet 11 inches tall, her presence filled every room with joy, warmth, and a touch of mischief.
Born on August 15, 1940 in Fulton Kentucky, Jackie lived a life full of love, adventure and a southern drawl that never left. She was married to the love of her life, Russel Jenkins, with whom she shared a beautiful, enviable marriage. Their love was filled with deep affection, playful banter, and the kind of understanding that only soulmates possess. Even in their little spats, Russel knew that Jackie always had the final say. After his passing in 2020, she carried his memory in her heart, cherishing the love they shared.
Jackie was a devoted and proud mother to her daughter, Tammy Allmon, and a second mother to her beloved niece, Teresa Sigman and Tammy's childhood friend, April Brown. Her grandchildren, Jason (wife Emma) and Katie (husband Joe), were the lights of her life, and she adored her great-granddaughters, Ella and Elizabeth. She was endlessly proud of her family and never missed a chance to brag about their accomplishments.
Jackie had a special way of connecting with people—she never met a stranger. Whether in the grocery store or at an event, she could strike up a conversation with anyone and walk away with a new friend. Her infectious personality made her the life of the party, and her sassy, spunky nature ensured that laughter was never in short supply. She had a playful side, especially when it came to games, and those who played with her knew she wasn't above bending the rules just a little to claim victory.
A woman of deep faith, Jackie had a strong relationship with God and trusted in His plan for her. She was also an active member of the Red Hat Society, where she built lifelong friendships and embraced life's joys with enthusiasm.
She loved to travel, attend plays, and take casino trips with her best friend, Patricia. Patricia and Jackie were inseparable at times and treated each other's grandchildren as their own. She loved Nicki and Mathew very much. She was a passionate fan of Michigan State sports, attending hockey games with her close friend Troyl and Carol, always cheering with enthusiasm after a few hot chocolates with Amaretto. Whether on the road or at home, she made every moment an adventure. Her loyalty as a friend was unmatched, and her kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Jackie's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to bring smiles, laughter, and warmth to those who loved her. Though she is reunited with Russel in heaven, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at Oak Grove Funeral Home (309 W Parkdale Rd, Manistee, MI 49660) on February 5th 2025 at 3pm (visitation at 2pm), where we will honor the incredible woman she was and the love she shared with all of us.
