Obituary

Harry Otto Kolk, age 95, of Manistee, peacefully passed away in his sleep on Sunday October 10, 2021.
Harry was born on May 5, 1926, in Manistee, Michigan, the son of the late Henry and Amanda (Beyer) Kolk. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II - the European Theater. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery during his time served.
On March 26, 1983, Harry married Gail (Motley) Kolk at their home and they shared 38 wonderful years together.
Harry was a hard-working man and took pride in his work. He was a master electrician for his company, Harry's Electric. Harry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting for mushrooms.
He was a member of Manistee Elks Lodge #250.
Harry will be missed by his wife, Gail; his seven children Harry W. (Karen) Kolk of Manistee, Gary L. (Jan) Kolk of Saranac, Suzanne (Paul) Smogoleski of Manistee, Dennis J. (Jean Charteen) Kolk of Mesick, Matthew Forslund of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bradley Forslund of Clovis, New Mexico, and Dawn (Allen) Parr of Grand Rapids; his 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Besides his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his seven siblings.
Military Graveside Services will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
Memorials in Harry's name may be directed to Mid-Michigan Honor Flight or Manistee Elks Lodge #250.
