Harold Edward Perry, age 98 of Manistee died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.
He was born on March 14, 1925, in Traverse City, Michigan, the son of the late Harry & Wanda (Kleczewski) Perry. He was a graduate of Traverse City High School in 1942 and then served as a Naval Aviator during World War II. In 1949 he graduated from Central Michigan College of Education. On October 10, 1953, he married Virginia M. Norris at the bride's home in Cleveland, Ohio. She preceded him in death in June of 2001.
Hank was the owner of H.E. Perry Company in Manistee. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Manistee, Rotary, Elks, Masons, Shriners, & Manistee Golf & Country Club. He enjoyed bowling, baseball, & golf.
Survivors include two sons Mark (Mary Beth) Perry of Ann Arbor, MI, & Scot (Lisa) Perry of Benzonia, MI; granddaughters Erica Perry of Ann Arbor and Brittany Perry of Lake Ann; grandsons Scot G. Perry of Benzonia, Blake Perry of San Diego, CA, Nathan Perry of Indianapolis, IN, Andrew Perry of Holland, MI, and Alexander Perry & Christian Perry both of Temecula, CA; great grandson Gavin Perry of Ann Arbor; great granddaughter Yasmine Samuel of Ann Arbor; daughter-in-law Natasha Perry of Temecula, Ca; and former daughter-in-law Katherine Perry of Temecula, CA; and many extended family members.
He was also preceded in death by three sons Kent, Forde, & Drew Perry; three sisters Louise MacKenzie, Evelyn Emling, & Marion Chase; one brother George Perry; stepmother Bertha Perry; and daughter-in-law Kris Perry.
Graveside Service & Military Honors will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City. with Pastor Chad Oyer from the First Congregational Church in Traverse City officiating. Military Honors by the VFW Cherryland Post #2780 and the United States Navy.
Memorials in Hank's name may be made to the First Congregational Church in Manistee.
