Gregory Alan Gumieny, age 60 of Manistee, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday August 8, 2024.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 22, 1963, the son of the late Lawrence "Larry" and Donna "Karine" (Shultz) Gumieny. Greg graduated from Manistee High School.

Greg helped out at the family bar, Star Corners. Currently employed by Republic Services, Greg began his career with them in 1981 at Harlands. He was also employed at Gentz Forest Products and Malburgs Forest Products.

On May 3, 2003, he married Lynn Shull Parker in Brethren, Michigan.

He enjoyed his motorcycle rides with his bike brothers, going on many veteran related runs. Greg also enjoyed hunting and cookouts with family.

Greg is survived by his wife, Lynn; children Melissa (Jesse) Smith of Manistee, John (Angie) Parker of Williamsburg, MI, Jamie Parker and Kyle Gumieny, both of Manistee; four brothers Andrew (Andrea) Gumieny of Grand Rapids, Larry Gumieny, Bryan Gumieny, and Jeff Gumieny all of Manistee; grandchildren Morgan Parker, Jacob Miller, Makena Miller, Peyton Parker, and Charlotte Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, locally including Tyler (Libbey) Gumieny and Hunter (Jenna) Gumieny; extended family Ruthetta Gumieny, Jason Patterson, Judy Patterson, Tom (Laura) Thompson and Mark Bowling.

Funeral Services for Greg will be held at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee on Thursday August 15, 2024, at 7:30 PM, with Pastor Bud Goodspeed officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to DAV Chapter #43 Transportation Fund - 341 Fourth Avenue, Manistee, MI 49660.
