Gordon Joseph Sinicki, age 93 of Filer City, died Tuesday morning August 16, 2022, at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital.
He was born on March 10, 1929, in Filer City and attended Saint Joseph School and Manistee High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He married Virginia M. Pieczynski on May 20, 1950, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee.
He was employed at Michigan Tool (Ex-Cello) for 26 years retiring in 1982 and was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include his wife; Virginia M. Sinicki of Filer City, two sons; James Sinicki of Rockhill, SC and John (Gail) Sinicki of Ormond Beach, FL, grandchildren; Shelley Waitner, Keaston Sinicki, and Alyssa Sinicki, great grandchildren; Morgan Shelton, Karl Waitner Jr., Avery Sinicki, and Hadleigh Sinicki, great-great grandchild; Zaine Waitner, his sister; Isabelle (Darwin) Edens of Arlington Heights, IL as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters; Mary Lou Popielarz and Gloria Vadeboncoeur and brother; Donald Popielarz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 22, 2022, at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Father Basil Lek celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 10:30 AM until time of Mass.
