Gertrude Elaine Diesing, age 100 of Manistee died Sunday morning August 24, 2025 at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.

She was born on April 20, 1925 in Manistee, MI the daughter of the late Milton & Alice (Walstom) Wilson. She married Arnold Leonard Diesing on October 28, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2003.

Gertude was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, and bingo. She cherished the memories of the Wilson girls yearly trip to the UP for fishing and family fun and most recently the time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children; William Diesing of Onekama, Richard (Julie) Diesing of Manistee, James (Terri) Diesing of Columbus, OH, and Jane Diesing of Manistee, her grandchildren; Amanda Germanese, Carl Diesing, Eric (Connie) Diesing, Angela (Mike Hagen) Caro, Bethany & Daniel Diesing, great grandchildren; Noah & Evan Germanese, and sister; Rae Yonker of Coopersville. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was also preceded in death by a son: Leonard Diesing, sisters; Frances Crowell, Geraldine Wilson, & Mary Grenell, brother; Milton Wilson, & brothers-in-law; Harry Johnson, Dean Crowell Connie Grenell & Marvin Yonker.

Funeral Services for Gertrude E. Diesing will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee with Pastor Dennis Rahn officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service.
