Geraldine Eileen (Waldron) Peasley, born September 4, 1939, in Bronson, Michigan to Laverne and Eileen (Barton) Waldron, went into the loving arms of Jesus on August 28 at 6:18 PM after a battle with Dementia. Geri was proceeded into heaven by her firstborn son Jacob, her husband Raymond Peasley, her brother Ted, her sisters Janene and Phyllis, as well as her parents.
Geri is survived by her daughters Robin (Brian) Lindeman, Joyce (Dan) Newman and Nancy (Jeff) Finney, her brother Robert Rippy, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many loved friends. She loved her family deeply and would do anything for any one of them. She was a giver in many ways.
Geri's life consisted of many things, one she was a very hard worker, sometimes working two and three jobs to raise her three daughters during the years she was a single mom after divorce. She married Raymond Peasley at the age of 29, they eventually bought and operated Portage Lake Motel in Onekama, Michigan, moving from Grand Rapids. Geri also worked at the Medical Care in Manistee for many years until she retired, and they spent winters in Florida.
Geri was known for her friendliness at Lakeside Terrace Park. She would, on many occasions, be the first person and friend to anybody moving in, she would always welcome them and stop and talk with them as she was out walking her dogs. She was an avid walker, walking up to 5 miles per day through the age of 80. She loved all her friends deeply and was always there to help if she could. She was an amazing pool shooter, played for years on women's league where she held number one for many years, and also played mix league. She enjoyed it very much. Geri also rode motorcycles in her younger years along with snowmobiling. She like oldie music and country, loved to country dance.
She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was a bit sassy, liked her beer, and was definitely a strong woman that had a mind of her own. She always kept her word and did not waiver. She was a believer and received Jesus into her heart and trusted the Lord. She would reach out to others and share her faith when prompted. She knew where she was going when leaving this earth and knew she would be healed and resting in His arms.
Geri's celebration of life will be held at River of Life Ministry in Manistee, Michigan on Saturday September 11, 2021, at 1:00pm. Pastor John Scott will officiate her celebration.
