George R. Liston, age 87 of Manistee, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday May 24, 2024.

He was born on November 11, 1936, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, the son of the late Horace and Wilma (Hornsby) Liston. George graduated from Mesick High School and went on to serve in the Michigan National Guard.

George married Mary Scarbrough on January 21, 1956, in Mesick and they shared 60 years together before Mary's passing in 2016.

He was a salesman for Eutectic Castolin before retiring in 1992.

George was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1765 and the Manistee Moose Lodge 1128.
He enjoyed spending his time camping, fishing, and golfing.

George is survived by his son Lance Liston; grandchildren Mason Waligorski, Tanner Liston, Tatum Liston, and Mayan Liston; great-granddaughter Kendal Waligorski; and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, George was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Colosimo and his grandson Garrett Waligorski.

According to his wishes, there will be no services at this time.
