George Mark Carey, age 70 of Manistee died Monday, September 1, 2025 at Wexford Senior Care Center in Cadillac.

He was born on November 18, 1954 in Manistee, MI, the son of George Edward & Shirley Ann (Lind) Carey. He was a 1972 graduate of Manistee Catholic Central and was a veteran of the United States Army.

George had been employed as an insurance agent, operating room technician, and retired from Packaging Corporation of America after an eighteen year career.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his children; Tamara (Chris) Exo of Bay City, MI, Mark (Megan) Carey and Steve (Jessica) Carey of Manistee, grandchildren; Eric, Madeline, Maverlie, Mark Jr., Adleigh, Paige, & Emma, great grandson; Cedric, his mother; Shirley Carey of Scottville, sister; Marylynn (Dan) Adamski of East Lake, bothers; Daniel (Terri) Carey of Wisconsin and Robert (Christi) Carey of Virginia, as well as nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his father.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the East Lake Village Hall from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
