Gaye Ivy Pearl McLeod, Age 102, of Lansing-formerly Manistee, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026. She was born August 12, 1923, in Alpena, the daughter of Ivy Pearl English (Gohl) and Clarence Benjamin Jacobs.
On September 20, 1941, Gaye married Charles Earl McLeod, in Alpena, Michigan. Together, they spent many loving years together until his passing in September 2010.
Gaye attended Alpena High School and graduated in 1941. After high school, she worked for Stern Brothers, in New York, Michigan State College, in Lansing, The Chamber of Commerce, in Manistee, Orchard Beach State Park, in Manistee, and then sold Tupperware and was very active on the farm in Onekama.
She was a very active member of Manistee United Methodist Church where she belonged to many groups, including her mission work in Puerto Rico. Gaye also was a member of the Eastern Star for 80 years, Onekama School Board, volunteered at Kennedy Elementary School, and was Secretary of Sunday school for Manistee United Methodist Church for many years.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, knitting, working with her roses, and embroidery. Gaye will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and her church family.
Gaye is survived by: her children, Charles McLeod (Carol), Delynn Sharon, Duane McLeod (Diana), Denise Amburgey (Larry), Deanna Robbins (Mike Niciporek), and Colleen Schroeder (Carl); 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Gaye was preceded in death by: her husband of 69 years, Charles Earl McLeod; daughter, Judith Sanocki (Bud); grandson, Randall Sanocki; and brothers, Lloyd Robarge, Claude Robarge, Neal (Buddy) Robarge, Clarence Jacobs, and James Jacobs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Friday, August 14, 2026, at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 309 W. Parkdale Avenue, Manistee, MI 49660, with Pastor Jerry Jaquish presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and a luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, in Manistee, Michigan.
