Obituary

Elizabeth Ann (she preferred Ann) Taylor, age 72 of Onekama, MI died peacefully surrounded by family and
friends on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Munson  Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan.

She was born on February 17, 1953 in Amherst, Virginia the daughter of the late Joseph & Bessie Lee (Garbee) Siegrist, Jr.  She was a 1971 graduate of Amherst High School and later earned degrees from Virginia Tech, Central Michigan University and a Doctorate from the University of Tennessee.

Ann married Allen Richmond Taylor in Amherst and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 21, 2025.

Ann was a private practice Clinical Psychologist, and also had been employed by Dow Chemical company in
Employee Assistance and Training & Development.  Ann and Allen retired from Filmtec in Minneapolis in 2008 and moved to Onekama, a town they both loved and their chosen final resting spot.

Ann had many interests. She was a passionate and accomplished gardener. She loved nurturing her incredible collection of indoor plants and she knew all the names of her dozens of daylilies that she collected and planted in her gardens throughout the years.  Ann also enjoyed hiking, travel, reading a classic novel, writing poetry and identifying the birds that flocked to her many bird feeders. Ann was also a gentle cat mom to three special pets.

Survivors include her husband Allen Taylor, brother George and daughter in law Phyllis Siegrist, brother & sisters-in-law; Raymond Taylor, Mark Taylor, & Lucille Welch and Brian Welch, as well as several nieces &
nephews and many dear friends

She was also preceded in death by a brother; Clifford Siegrist, III and brother-in-law; Michael Taylor.

A Celebration of Life for Ann will be held October 10th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Interment will be in Onekama in one of the 3 Cemeteries.
