Elaine M. Ritola, age 85 of Manistee died Friday afternoon March 7, 2025 at her home.

She was born on September 3, 1939 in Elmwood Township in Leelanau County, the daughter of the late Frank J. & Veda G. (McConaha) Bunek. She was a 1957 graduate of Traverse City High School. She married William L. Ritola on November 1, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1999. Her son Scott also preceded her in death on July 21, 2009.

Elaine retired from the Larsen Insurance Agency and enjoyed many years as a bartender too. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Elaine enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, watching golf on TV, and spending time with her many friends, often over a meal or a cup of coffee. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and her love of baseball led her to visit many major league baseball stadiums. Wearing an item of Detroit Tiger apparel would be welcomed at her memorial service.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and many special friends.

Memorial Services for Elaine will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Manistee with Pastor Craig K. Abee officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials in Elaine's memory may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Manistee Council on Aging (Senior Center).
