Elaine Joyce Perkins, age 88 of Manistee died Wednesday evening July 26, 2023, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

She was born on January 19, 1935, in Vernon, Michigan the daughter of the late Berenard & Clara M. (Seavy) Hall. She was a graduate of Corunna Public Schools.

During Elaine's working career she had been employed by Fisher Body in Flint, was owner/operator of Elaine's Scissors & Styles Beauty Salon in Mt. Morris, small parts plants in Corunna & Durand, and at the Little River Casino in Manistee.

She was a 43-year member of the Eagles Auxiliary and a 54-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include five children Debbie Bridges of Summerville, SC, Brad Perkins of Vernon, MI, Robert Curtis of Scottsdale, AZ, Denise Parks of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Emmett Gillett, Jr. of Livonia, MI; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter Diann Oke; 2 grandsons Brandon Bridges & Emmett Gillett; granddaughter Heather Heffernan; and a stepbrother Richard Hall.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, MI at a later date.
