Elaine Demetra Bladzik, age 88, of Eastlake, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday morning October 4, 2021, at home surrounded by family.
She was born on July 16, 1933, in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of the late Edward and Amorithe (Wagner) Laskey. Elaine graduated from Manistee High School in 1951. Shortly after graduating, Elaine married Joseph A. Bladzik Jr. in June of 1951 in Manistee. They shared 69 years together before Joseph's passing on November 11, 2020.
Elaine was first employed at The Glen of Michigan and then she moved on to the Drop Forge. When the Drop Forge closed, Elaine worked at and eventually retired from the Manistee Medical Care Facility.
Elaine was a communicant of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church (Divine Mercy Parish).
Throughout her life, Elaine was a lover and supporter of animals and for many years was a contributor, volunteer, and active member of the Manistee Humane Society/Homeward Bound.
Elaine had a love and passion for baking, animals, art, flowers, music, and most of all her family. She enjoyed taking walks with her dogs, trying out new and interesting recipes, and preparing special dinners and desserts for her family.
Elaine is survived by her two children Amy (Bladzik) Robb and Clay Bladzik; her four grandchildren Erin (Louie) Stevenson, Sean (Sophia) Robb, Amber Bladzik, and Bre Bladzik; two great grandchildren Ava Bladzik and Ayden Garber-Bladzik; son-in-law Mark Robb and daughter-in-law Dannette Bladzik; and last but not least mumma's little girl, Sophie.
Besides for her parents Edward and Amorithe, and her husband, Joseph, Elaine is preceded in death by her brother Leslie Laskey and her sister Elsie Kott.
