Edwin Flatten Sr's Obituary
Edwin E. Flatten, Sr., age 81 of Brethren, passed away on Sunday April 9, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.
He was born on February 20, 1942, in Manistee, Michigan, the son of the late Harry E. and Vera M. (Goffar) Flatten. Edwin attended Onekama Schools, graduating in 1960. On January 13, 1962, Edwin married Margaret Murphy at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee and they shared 61 years together.
Edwin was a foundry worker at Excello for 20 years and then a wireline operator at Maxco for 10 years before retiring in 1992.
He loved spending time gardening, canning, fishing, hunting, camping and woodworking. Edwin also enjoyed watching YouTube videos.
Edwin 's family members include his wife Margaret C. Flatten; his daughter Tammy who preceded him in death and her husband Patrick McGlynn; daughter Christine and her husband Bernie Whitfield; son Eddie and his wife Shirley Flatten; grandchildren Adele, Anne Marie, Shianne, Conor, Sierra, Julie, and Amy; and great-grandchildren Austyn, Garryson, Lawson, and Zach.
Edwin had a full and wonderful life surrounded by family and friends.
