Donna Mae Thompson, age 92, of Onekama, passed away on Tuesday June 14, 2022, at Paul Oliver Rehab Center.
Donna was born on March 20, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Alfred and Dortha (Cannon) Hoose. She attended school of cosmetology and also received her real estate license. On April 26, 1958, Donna married Raymond Thompson and they shared 53 years together before Raymond's passing on September 3, 2011.
She was the owner of three beauty salons: Fashion Trend Beauty Salon in Swartz Creek, MI, one in Grand Blanc Township, MI and one in Flint, MI.
Donna loved cooking and throwing Hawaiian luau's, pig roasts, and family parties. She also loved entertaining, dancing, and crocheting clothes for her dollies. Donna enjoyed traveling out west in the motor home.
She is survived by her sister Charlotte (Jon) Straight; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Darryl) Walter, Linda (Mark) Proffer-Halas, James (Laura) Balars, William (Angie) Hoose, Steve Hoose, Loran (Shelly) Hoose, Sandra (Jeffery) Leckrone, and David (Patti) Hoose; numerous great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. She was loved by many special caregivers.
In addition to her parents, Alfred and Dortha, and her husband Raymond, Donna was preceded in death by her brother William Hoose; sister Phyllis Hoose Terry; brother-in-law Warren Terry; and nephew Bruce Terry.
A memorial service for Donna will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee with Reverend Dr. Jeffray Greene officiating.
