David A. Gentz of Manistee, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2026.

He was born on December 30, 1969, the son of Robert & Paula (Miller) Gentz. He was a graduate of Brethren High School. David owned and operated Gentz Forest Products for many years. He was a very generous soul and was always quick to lend a hand or help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his children; Brent (Tracy) Gentz, Kaila (Ryan) Bennett, Michaela (Brennan O'Keefe) Guerra, Adam Hooper, and Liam Gentz, his grandchildren; Emmett, Payton, Hayden, Gavynn, Amelia, & baby-to-be O'Keefe, his siblings, Duane Gentz and Sherry (Jason) Stamp & families, his grandmother; Carol Dyer, and a large extended family. He is also survived by very special friends; Joe & Kathy Cudney.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Paul & Delores Miller & Art and Helen Gentz, and an infant child.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Manistee, with Father James Bearss officiating.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed to Michaela Guerra to assist the family with final expenses.
