Darwin Somero a long time resident and local builder from Arcadia, Michigan was accepted into The Lord's loving arms on August 10, 2021. He was born on January 18, 1938 in Hart, Michigan the son of the late Henry & Mildred (Wells) Somero.

Darwin proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1955-1958. His jobs included air rescue recovery and fire fighter. Classified duty stations included the Marshall Islands, Nevada Nuclear Test Site, and Area-51.

Darwin was noted for his excellence in building quality homes. He took pride in the craftsmanship of every house he built. He also enjoyed restoring cars and visiting veteran's memorials. He attended Kaleva Bible Church.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years Charlotte Tondu-Somero and his children; Dawn (Kip) Lucas, Stephanie (Jimmie) Spivey, Daniel (Marita) Somero, and Ilona (Tom) Lowe.

He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren; Shannon, Jessica, Gabriel, Noelle, Christopher, Lindsey, Joshua, and Alexander.

Also surviving are siblings; Marlene Olsen, Ilona Bell, & Hank Somero as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister; Joyce, and brothers Roger, Kenneth, & Douglas Somero.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Arcadia. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will follow at Finch Park in Arcadia.

Memorials in Darwin's name may be directed to Kaleva Bible Church.
