Dan "Jinx" Dontz, age 73, of Manistee, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday October 25, 2024.
Born on May 8, 1951, in Manistee, Michigan, Dan was the son of the late Florian and Evelyn (Banicki) Dontz. He graduated from Manistee High School.
Dan was the owner of Dontz Orchards. When he wasn't working, Dan liked to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his children Scott (Jennifer) Dontz and Polly (Matthew) Schneider; grandchildren Hayden (Maggie) Schneider and Samuel Schneider; brothers John (Roseanne) Dontz, Steve (Marylynn) Dontz, and Jeff (Jennifer) Dontz; and his beloved neighbor "dog lady".
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sisters Alice Rittenour and Jean Sedlar.
Plans for a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
