Clyde Wayne Reed, 89, of Bear Lake, MI, and Punta Gorda FL, died peacefully on August 9, 2025, in Bear Lake.

He was born November 4, 1935, in Bear Lake, the son of the late Lester and Tressie (Cole) Reed. Wayne was a graduate of Muskegon High School and then was selected for pilot training with the US Air Force. On May 3, 1958, Wayne married his sweetheart, Nancy Ann Timmons, in Columbus, OH. During his service, they relocated to many bases including Louisiana, Missouri, California, New Mexico, UP Michigan, and Alabama. Wayne retired from active duty to fly with American Airlines in 1964, training in Texas and based in Illinois and Florida. He continued his military service as a Major in the US Air Force Reserves and a Liaison Officer for the US Air Force Academy.

Wayne is survived by his children, son, James (Shelley) Reed of Bear Lake and daughter, Cindy (Gary) Tigges of Scottsdale, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Lyn) Reed of Menomonee Falls, WI, and sister, Cathy Woods of Kalava, MI.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Bear Lake Community Church, 7861 Main Street, Bear Lake with Pastor Keith Hoover officiating. Burial will take place following the service in Pleasanton Township Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
