Obituary

Bonnajean Grace Pettis, age 88 of Pierport, Michigan died May 3, 2021, at her son's home in Palm Bay, Florida.
She was born on April 9, 1933, in Onekama, Michigan the daughter of the late Harvey & Seraphia (Patterson) Showalter. Following high school, she attended business college in Grand Rapids. On October 23, 1953, she married Lewis Arnold Pettis at St. Ann Catholic Church in Frankfort.
Bonnajean was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Onekama. She was an avid bowler in the Frankfort Ladies Bowling League. She also enjoyed hunting for Petoskey stones and flower gardening. She also had a love for quilting and knitting.
Survivors include her husband; Lewis Pettis of Pierport, her son; Arnold (Julie) Pettis of Palm Bay, FL, grandchildren; Donovan, Alyssum, Candace, and Kyle, four great grandchildren, brother; Ronald Showalter of Manistee, & numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son Roger William Pettis, and siblings; JoAnn Hutchinson, Harvey Showalter, Audrey Cady, Jacqueline Jones-Vaughn, Anna Somero, Rosalyn Soller, and infant brother; Joseph Oliver Showalter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM with Father Ruben Munoz celebrant. Interment will be in the Onekama Village Cemetery.
