Betty Joyce (Lindeman) Jacobs, age 86, of Manistee, was called to here eternal home June 4, 2026. Betty was born to Richard Emil and Inez Juanita (Collins) Lindeman on June 6, 1939. A graduate of Onekama High School, she married Harold Dean “Sonny” Jacobs on June 14, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama, MI.

Betty worked in retail throughout her life, starting out dressing windows in downtown Manistee in the late 1950s. After taking time to raise their daughters, Betty returned to retail on River Street, working at the local Hallmark store for George and Irene Saylor, then Ken and Del Kott and finally working with her daughter when Doug and Kellie Parkes started their business in 1994, until her retirement in 2017.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama. Betty enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting and academic events and celebrating holidays and special events with her family.

 Betty was preceded in death by her husband Harold on January 4, 2017; her parents; sisters Juanita (Vicky) Lindeman and Donna Clouse; infant brother Donald Lindeman; sister-in-law Robin Lindeman and brother-in-law John Clouse.

Survivors include her daughters Kellie (Doug) Parkes and Tracie (Kevin) Dooley; grandchildren Ashley Parkes and Christian Parkes; brother Brian Lindeman and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty also leaves behind many friends and chosen family from her time spent at the Manistee County Medical Care.

A visitation and funeral will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee, MI, with Pastor Jacob Sherry officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with the service beginning at 11:00am. There will be a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Betty’s honor to Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama or the Manistee County Medical Care Activities Fund
