Barbara Jean Steffes, age 86, of Wellston, Michigan, peacefully passed away on Saturday February 26, 2022.
Barbara was born on January 12, 1936, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of the late Clayton and Bertha (Scott) Haskell. She married Merle John Steffes on July 17, 1953 in Grand Rapids and they shared 68 years together.
She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and knitting. During the winter she would crochet and knit hats and mittens that she would take to the schools for the children who needed them. She loved gardening and baking. Above all else, she loved spending her time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Merle; children Tom Steffes, Tracy (Sonny) Loper, Sue (Rick) Rooney, and Rosemary Flower; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Lucy and Roseanne; and many other family and friends.
Besides for her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Lynn; grandchildren Justin and Sadie; and her siblings.
During this time, no services will be held.
