Audrey Ann Amburgey, age 96, of Manistee, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at her Green Acres home.
She was a wonderful woman, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She was born on February 28, 1928, in St. Clair, MI, the daughter of Harvey and Florence (Kaufman) Scott. Audrey graduated from St. Clair High School in 1945. She then worked as a secretary at Diamond Crystal Salt Company. On April 22, 1950, she married Beryl Amburgey at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Clair. After raising her family, she held positions at St. John's Lutheran Church in Romeo and the Department of Social Services in Manistee.
Audrey enjoyed singing and was a member and choir member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. John's Lutheran Church and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Manistee. She was also a member of the Good Shepherd Alter Guild and Hannah Circle, and volunteered at the Manistee Medical Care Facility. She loved to bowl, garden and golf, and was a member of the Manistee Golf and Country Club.
Audrey is survived by one daughter Linda (John) Holmes of Manistee; one son Larry (Denise) Amburgey of Lansing; a son-in-law Gregory Urcavich of Pulaski, WI; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Katherine, Melissa, Wendy, Justin, Samantha, Trevor, and Tyler; ten great grandchildren, Christian, Alysse, Denalyn, Emma, Audrey, Addison, Jack, Olivia, Mia and Ava; two sisters-in-law Donna Amburgey and Roma Bezzeg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Beryl L. Amburgey on Nov. 6, 2015; a daughter Sherri Lynn Urcavich on Sept. 7, 2015; a son Timothy Virgil Amburgey on Feb. 17, 2023; and two sisters Eileen Britz and Marilyn Harris.
Celebration of Life services for Audrey Ann Amburgey will be on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Craig Abee officiating. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
