Arlene Mary Hansen, age 93 of Onekama died Wednesday, October 1, 2025 peacefully at home with family by her side.

She was born April 28, 1932 in Bessemer, MI daughter of the late Merrill Morris and Esther (Wilson) Walton. She was a 1950 graduate of Onekama High School, recently celebrating her 75th class reunion with close friend and classmate Jeannie Firman. On December 23, 1950 she married Martin B. Hansen, celebrating 70 years of marriage before his passing.

Arlene worked as a nurses aid during her lifetime doing what she did best, caring for others. An avid collector of tattered dolls, she made them new again to share with her grandchildren. She was a life member of the VFW Allen Park, Michigan.

Survivors include sister; Adrienne Connors, brother; Merrill Morris, children; James Hansen, Janet (Larry) Neal, Jody Hansen, Chris Hansen, Patricia Schuitema, Nancy (Mike) Kenny, Pamela (Martin) Dziewit, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Martin B. Hansen, daughter-in-law; Marti Hansen, and great granddaughter; Nicole T. Hartman.

A private family service will be held in the spring for the interment of Arlene & Martin Hansen at the Onekama Village Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Arlene's name to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter or St. Judes Hospital.
