Anthony Helminiak, age 88 of Manistee, passed away on Friday March 28, 2025, in Ludington, Michigan.
Born July 16, 1936, in Manistee, Michigan, Anthony was the son of Anthony and Catherine (Speck) Helminiak. He attended St. Joseph Schools. Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War before being honorably discharged.
Anthony married MaryEllen O'Herron on April 17, 1958, at Guardian Angels Church in Manistee, where he was a member. They shared 66 years together.
He enjoyed watching western tv shows and movies and loved hunting with his sons and grandsons.
Anthony is survived by his wife MaryEllen; children Dan (Christie) Helminiak, Dawn (Brad) Melchert, and Tony Helminiak; daughter-in-law Donna Helminiak; sisters Joann (Tom) Viene and Joyce Kaplan; grandchildren Shawna (Matt) Roskoski, Ryan (Alex) Helminiak, Adam (Ashley) Helminiak, and Dylan (Julia) Helminiak; step-grandchild Tyler (Whitney) Hillier; great-grandchildren Noah Helminiak, Maddie Roskoski, Roam Helminiak, and Parker Helminiak; step-great-grandchild Addison Hillier; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Anthony John Helminiak; mother Catherine Gauthier; son Timothy Helminiak; brother Robert Helminiak; and brother-in-law Avery Kaplan.
A graveside service will be held on Friday April 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee, with Father James Bearss officiating. A luncheon will follow at Dial-A-Ride, 180 Memorial Drive, Manistee, MI 49660, ending at 2:00 PM.
