Anthony William Daunis, 78, of Manistee, Michigan, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan.

Born on December 13, 1947, in Baldwin, Lake County, Michigan, he was the beloved son of Anthony and Margaret Daunis. Tony graduated from Baldwin Schools in 1966 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving two Commendation Medals for Valor.

On April 2, 1982, Tony married Jeri Lyn Richardson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee. They shared many wonderful years together until her passing on September 5, 2019.

Tony was a dedicated mechanic, known for his work with various local companies, and had a passion for collecting and restoring antique vehicles. He was a respected member and Past Commander of VFW Walsh Post #4499 in Manistee and also served on the Manistee United Veterans Honor Guard.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Nicole Daunis; his son, Paul Daunis; and his sisters, Pat Pacola (Don) and Mildred Cushman (John).

Military Graveside Honors will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Manistee, under the auspices of The Manistee United Veteran Council Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
