Anna Mae Krueger passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on June 11th, 2024, in Bear Lake, MI.
The daughter of Okra Lee Goins, (raised by Perry Guldi), and Ruth Mary Blakeman, was born on August 19th, 1942, in Temperance, MI. Anna married the love of her life, Charles Arthur Krueger Sr, on June 15th, 1957, in Brookville, IN at the sweet young age of 14 years. Charles and Anna settled into their longtime home in Erie, MI for 32 years where they raised their six children together, and were the fairytale of unconditional love, renewing their vows and love for each other again on both their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries.
Charles and Anna moved to Bear Lake, MI in 1995 and became devoted, active members of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Benzonia on September 11th, 1996. Upon joining the church Anna found her love for quilting in the church quilt club and making porcelain dolls with her best friends and fellow church members, Marve and Eleanor Siewert.
Anna loved being surrounded by her family and friends playing games every chance she got. Anna hosted weekly Bunco gatherings at her house in Erie, was frequently seen with cards in hand, and would play Yahtzee till the spots fell off the dice.
Anna enjoyed watching John Wayne westerns and anything that she could spot her favorite actor, Jimmy Stewart, in. It's A Wonderful Life was her all-time favorite, and you could guarantee it would be played continuously throughout the Christmas season.
Anna lost the love of her life on May 1st, 2015. She remained living in their home in Bear Lake where she was cared for and loved by her granddaughter and namesake, Anna Shoemaker, her husband Jason Shoemaker, and their daughter, Isabella.
Anna is survived by her daughters Beverly (Dale) Mason, Terry Burkholder, Christine Krueger, Connie (Dana) Tolliver, Mary (Mark) Guisbert; son Jeffy Burnette; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; siblings David (Mary) Goins, Tim (Karen) Goins, Terri Williams, Ed (Renee) Goins, Linda (Carl) Smith, Julie (Sam) Kinsler, Evelyn Goins, Helen Luchs, and Colleen Aguilar.
